Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin is a purified protein derived from bacteria that works by temporarily relaxing overactive muscles and blocking specific nerve signals. In safe, small clinical doses, it is used to smooth facial wrinkles, prevent chronic migraines, reduce excessive sweating, and treat muscle spasms

How it Works

When injected, the medication temporarily blocks the release of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) that tells muscles to contract. By keeping these muscles relaxed, it allows the overlying skin to smooth out while also relieving muscle stiffness and associated pain

What to Expect

The injections are administered directly into the targeted muscles or skin during a brief outpatient appointment. Results typically begin to appear within 3days and reach their maximum effect in about one to two weeks. The effects are temporary, generally lasting between three to six months, after which follow-up treatments are required to maintain results
